Effluent Treatment Plant

Popular in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, effluent treatment plants (ETPs) purify water by removing both toxic and non-toxic chemicals. These treatment plants also remove dirt, debris, grit, polymers and other contaminates, greatly reducing risks of pollution in the industry. At DMS (UK) Ltd, we remove the layer of effluent from ETPs, ready for processing at our Hatfield facility.

Sewage Treatment Plant

As the name implies, sewage treatment plants (STPs) remove contaminants from domestic wastewater, using chemical, biological, and physical methods to do so. The end result is a waste stream that can be immediately used for environmental purposes, or further filtered and purified to become drinking water. The process leaves a significant amount of liquid waste for us to remove.

Common and Combined Effluent Treatment Plants

Common (or combined) effluent treatment plants (CETPs) work in much the same way as regular ETPs, except they are utilised by multiple, smaller-scale companies. This allows those businesses to split the cost by sharing a treatment plant. This, in turn, reduces the environmental impact by combining the treatment process at a single plant.
